The Illinois Hotel & Lodging Association Educational Foundation's events help support the scholarship program and provide a way to enhance and showcase the finest employees of our hotel industry.
There is always something cooking on the calendar to either raise funds or awareness or offer performance training or recognition of tireless, exceptional service given to our Illinois visitors. Seminar topics include Breaking down Barriers: English-Spanish training workshops, EFCA, ADA Compliance, Safety and Security and Crisis Management and Communication.

The Hospitality Games, H-Games, February/April:
Resilience, stamina and excitement are the key ingredients for this annual competition among Illinois lodging industry employees. Hotel teams compete in relay events of skill and a knowledge bowl to promote teamwork, camaraderie and pride. Winners are awarded prizes and trophies, while sponsors showcase their products and provide giveaways. This event was awarded Top Public Relations Program in 2003 by ISHAE, The International Society of State Hotel Association Executives. In conjunction with Where University. Pony Up for the Kids, June:
Pony Up for the Kids III was again an outstanding success.
Friday, June 19th, 2009, was a winning afternoon for the IHLA Educational Foundation (IHLAEF) and all those who attended their Third Annual "Pony Up for the Kids" Fundraising Event at Arlington Race Course in Arlington Heights, IL. Over 100 people enjoyed lavish buffets, premium libations and specialty tequila bar by Don Julio and Diageo Brands, as well as a silent auction and betting strategists on hand to entice winning spirits!
Watch for details on Pony Up IV scheduled for June, 2010. Net proceeds from the event help fund academic scholarships for Illinois students pursuing a hospitality management degree.
